Plants are very common as fossils and most of all in coal. In fact, coal even consists of fossilized / crushed plant remains. It is in coal that the most beautiful plant fossils are found. Coal is of course not the only rock in which plant fossils are found, they are often sedimentary rocks. There are different types of plant fossils we know, among other things; petrified wood, fossil leaves, fossil tree roots and even the resin are found. We call this fossil resin amber and in England they use the term amber.
