Piesberg - Fossiele Plantenresten
In the Carboniferous about 320 million years ago, the Piesberg near Osnabruck in Germany was a large swamp. Where the plant remains slowly accumulated in this way, no oxygen could get between the plant remains. And this is ideal for fossilization that is why many seed ferns, horsetails and other fossil plants have been preserved in the coal seams here. Some of these fossil plants I have collected myself, but most of these have already been sold and replaced by purchased specimens.
