Granite is an igneous rock that mainly consists of the minerals quartz, feldspar and mica. The amounts vary per granite, but in general 50% of granite consists of quartz. granite is formed when magma solidifies underground *a deep rock. Because it solidifies underground, the miner cools down quickly and this gives crystals the chance to grow. And when granite is exposed to high pressure, it will convert into the metamorphic rock gneiss. This type of granite is sold by many traders as dolmatier jasper. However, this is an incorrect and misguided name because there is no jasper in this stone at all.
