Monetaria moneta
Monetaria moneta is also called the money kauri, this is because this species was used as a medium of exchange / currency. The colors of this cowry vary from pale yellow to yellow-green with sometimes green stripes. Its distribution area is in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and the Philippines. But also the archipelagos in the northern and southern pacific oceans such as Fiji, Hawaii, Palau and French Polynesia.
