Sand
The term sand is nothing more than a name for the grain size of rocks. It is a hard, gritty, loose substance that is one of the most abundant substances on Earth. The grain size varies from 2 millimeters to 63 micrometers. If it becomes larger than 2 millimeters, it is called gravel and if it becomes smaller than 63 micrometers, it is silt.
