Rhyolite
The term Rhyolite (liparite is an older synonym) was coined by the Baron von Richthoven from the Greek for Flowing Lava. It is a felic igneous rock and indeed also an outgrowth rock that solidifies on the surface. The name translated name of this type of stone "flowing lava" is therefore a correct name. Small crystals can be recognized in rhyolite. However, large crystals will always be missing in this rock because it has cooled too quickly for this. The main minerals encountered in rhyolite are quartz, potassium feldspar and plagioclase. In addition, traces of biotite, aphibole and pyroxene may be present here and there.
