Pyrite and Calcite on Matrix
This is a piece with both Pyrite and Calcite on a matrix of mainly quartz and possibly feldspar. The crystals are not large, but they are frequently present, and the rainbow-colored pyrite crystals are on large plates throughout. However, the calcite makes the piece interesting. These crystals are not only partly transparent but also UV active. And under a UV lamp they become bright pink in color.
