Glycymeridae
Glycymeridae have taxodont teeth in the hinge, the shells are heavy, depressed and oval. There are about 150 known species, most of which live in the Indo-Pacific region. The glycymeridae prefer sandy bottoms in shallow water. In Europe and Asia, several species serve as a food source.
