Siderite
The mineral Siderite is an iron carbonate that is also sometimes called iron spar. It is usually yellow or brown to brownish red in color but in some cases can also be red, green, grey, black or colorless. Siderite comes from the Calcite group and has trigonal crystal growth. The mineral can occur in all kinds of rocks. It is therefore usually caused by the weathering of these rocks.
