Reef Chalk
These are pieces of Devonian reef lime from the Hohenlimburger Kalkwere in Hagen, Germany. These were collected by me on 07-07-2018 to offer an interesting range of rocks that occur on our planet. The reef limestone is a type of limestone that is made up of layers of fossils with different organisms. The main components in this type of limestone are various fossil corals that you will still be able to see well in some pieces. This rock offers a beautiful view into the Givetian, Devonian of Germany. Note that limestone is a very soft sedimentary rock and that can mean that it falls apart more easily.
