Otala lactea
Otala lactea or the toothed milk snail is a species of snail in the family Helicidae. The color of the house is variable, but always a brown to yellow with brown color pattern. The mouth opening seems somewhat flattened from the bottom and has a shiny dark caramel brown color. Originally the species comes from the Mediterranean area but has now spread to larger parts of Europe. The snail is edible but is not used in snail farming.
