I have cut this cabochon from a medieval copper ore slag. These ore slags are very reminiscent of glass in texture and shape and it is very similar to this. However, it is the smelting remains that remained after the smelting of copper in the late Middle Ages. This special cabochon therefore has a piece of history of about 600 years. Combine that with the beautiful dark blue color and the beautiful teardrop shape. And you have a unique cabochon that is very suitable for jewelry but also just to add to the cabochon/gems collection.
