Stibnite (Antimonite)
The mineral stibnite, previously known as antimonite, is an important ore for the element antimony. It is a lead gray to faint blue colored mineral but the stripe color is always lead gray. The mineral is an antimony sulfide with the chemical formula Sb2S3. And the name comes from the Greek word stibnum which means antimony. It is formed in hydrotermal veins with other antimony ores and also in limestone and hot springs.
