Shungite
Shungite is a mineral/rock that for the most part consists of about 95% pure carbon. The rock/mineral is mainly found & mined in Russia and was therefore discovered in the town of Shunga. The shungite formations were most likely deposited in a brackish water lagoon and the carbon was built up from organic matter.
