Lead Slags
In Lavarion, Grienland there used to be very large silver mines. The ores here were galena, a mineral that can contain certain levels of silver. Before the silver could be mined, the ore was taken to the coast, where they melted the material. The ore that remained from this was thrown into the sea by the ancient Greeks. The most special minerals have been created in conjunction with the salty sea water. It differs per location/depth which minerals can be found in the snails. These micro-minerals can only be seen with a very good stereo microscope. And determining in some cases requires more than a little knowledge. The serpulide you see in photo 4 is a good witness of all the time these snails have been in the sea.
