Prehnite
The mineral prehnite was named in 1788 by Abraham Gotlieb Werner after the Dutch Hendrick von Prehn. Who discovered the mineral on August 2, 1733 in the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. It is a calcium aluminum silicate belonging to the inosillicates. And contrary to what you might expect, it is not a zeolite, but the mineral is often found in the vicinity of zeolites. Prehnite has a pearl luster and belongs to the orthonombic crystal system. The colors of prehnite can vary from colorless, white, gray to yellow yellow green and green. However, the streak color of the mineral is always white.
