This opal from Lightningridge, Australia is cut in a teardrop shape. The potsh is very light in color and extends to the edges of the top. There are unfortunately the necessary sand spots in the bottom. But the rest of the stone has very bright colors, from yellow-green and blue to a predominant orange-red color. It is a beautiful stone to use in jewelry, but it is also a wonderful addition to a mineral/gemstone collection.
