This is quite a large/heavy freeform cabochon of dark green opaque emerald. This emerald from Capoeriana, Brazil is still in the matrix of pegmatite, so they are different crystals in a cabochon. The black and brown of the matrix provides a beautiful contrast to the dark green of the emerald. Ideal as a collector's item, but on the large side for jewelry.
