Mookaite - Cabochon
Mookaite is actually a variant of the rock radiolarite, which only occurs in Mooka station, Western Australia. Despite this fact, it is mainly known as jasper, flint, and opal. These are all wrong descriptions that are mainly used in the gemstone industry to sell mookaite. The colors of mookaite are purple and caramel/ocher yellow and this is usually in combination of the two colors. In this case I deliberately grabbed a piece that only contains the caramel/ocher yellow to make a relatively even colored cabochon.
